Nestled in the Canadian Rockies, the town of Canmore is a nature lover’s paradise. With countless hiking and biking trails, as well as excellent camping and fishing, there’s no shortage of things to do.
It is located just a short drive from Calgary and Cochrane, and we love venturing out there for a nice getaway!
Canmore is also an outdoor lover’s paradise and there’s no better time to enjoy it than during the winter months. You can go cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice climbing, winter hikes – and the list goes on.
And when you are in the cold or need a break to get some work done, these coffee shops in Canmore will delight you!
Plus many of these cafes are extremely dog-friendly!
Beamer’s Coffee Bar (Old Canmore Road)
Beamer’s Coffee Bar is a cozy little coffee shop with a rustic lodge-style interior.
They have a classic coffee shop beverage menu with pastries, sandwiches, and snacks. Plus they also have plenty of comfortable seating.
And thanks to free wifi, the atmosphere is perfect for studying, working on your laptop, or just enjoying a good cup of coffee.
Beamer’s Coffee has been delighting visitors and locals since 1994, and they have two locations – Old Canmore Road/The Shops of Canmore and on Main and 7th.
We love the one on Old Canmore Road at the shopping complex where it is easy to park and enjoy.
The staff is friendly and the coffee is always delicious. We highly recommend Beamer’s Coffee if you’re looking for a great place to get your caffeine fix!

JK Bakery Cafe (Downtown)
JK Bakery Cafe has been our hang-out spot for years, and this is where we bring our family when they visit us from India and the US.
This cozy cafe is located in the downtown area and it welcomes you to mountain views. We like sitting outdoors to take in the ambiance of this little town.
JK Bakery has been around since 1994, and it’s a great place to enjoy breakfast, light lunch, or just a cup of coffee.
They have delicious baked goods and treats, as well as specialty coffees like lattes and cappuccinos. You can also find samosas and sandwiches on their menu!
I love their creamy Earl Grey tea and lattes. The atmosphere inside is warm and inviting, making it a great place to go for a casual afternoon break.
The bakery was founded by a German man named John Kirchpfennig, hence the name JK Bakery. Today it is managed by new owners, but the name and the legacy have stayed on.

JK Bakery Cafe (Railway Ave)
Tucked away in a cozy corner of the city, there is another JK Bakery, and this one has more seating areas.
You will find the same coffee menu and more. If you are looking to get some work done, this location will be better for you!

Eclipse Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee roaster that opened its doors in 2014 in Canmore. They are known to offer exceptional coffee and great customer service.
This is YOUR coffee place where you can savor over 10 different types of beans – they are roasted and brewed to perfection in-house. Choose from light fruity notes to bold chocolatey blends, and more.
You can also pick up a bag of their specialty coffee, or even order them online (to enjoy the same flavors and aroma at home). They ship all across Canada.
Eclipse Coffee Roasters takes pride in being environmentally responsible and using sustainable ways to source coffee beans from all over the world.

Good Earth Coffeehouse (Main Street Canmore)
The Good Earth Coffeehouse is hard to miss. It is located on Main Street in a cozy spot! It is warm and inviting inside and the smell of coffee will make you wanna stay here forever!
Their coffee is delicious, the atmosphere cozy, and the staff is always happy to help if you can’t decide what to order. I personally like their iced coffees and smoothies, but Salil gets his coffee and sandwich fix here heartily.
There is ample seating space for you to hang out with your work laptop and friends, but this cafe also tends to get really crowded during weekends and peak season, mainly due to its menu and location in the heart of town!
Even then, with a huge selection of espresso drinks, cappuccinos, frappes, smoothies, and more, you will love Good Earth.

Rocky Mountain Bagel Company
Rocky Mountain Bagel Company has welcomed guests in downtown Canmore since 1998. By its name, you know you can grab a bagel and of course a hot beverage.
And….their bagel menu is endless and amazing! A must pair with your cup of joe! They prepare everything in-house from scratch.
Their menu also features specialty espresso drinks, and coffees made with freshly roasted beans. Try one of their signature lattes or cappuccinos paired with delicious baked goods and specialty bagels!
Rocky Mountain Bagel Company has plenty of seating so you can relax while enjoying your favorite beverage. The interiors are very warm and inviting.
Plus, they offer free Wi-Fi, making it the perfect spot to get some work done in a cozy atmosphere.

I mean, when we are on road trips from Edmonton, Calgary to Canmore and beyond in the Canadian Rockies, we usually pick up coffee and tea from drive-throughs.

Tim Hortons Coffee: Tim Hortons needs no introduction – it’s a national treasure.
While you can get Timmy’s anywhere in Canada, the Canmore location is extra special with mountain views and near a gas station! It’s the perfect place to grab a quick cup of coffee before hitting the road again.

Where to go for coffee near Canmore – Banff National Park – Lake Louise & beyond
So Banff is just 20 minute’s drive away from Canmore. We love to stay in Canmore hotels – they are comparatively affordable and with amazing views all around you, you won’t want to leave.
At one point we also wanted to move here! Sigh*

Located downtown, on Banff Ave, the Whitebank Cafe is hard to miss when you are staying inside the National Park. They create beautiful latte art and they are delicious as well.
Evelyn’s Coffee Bar
This cozy cafe is located in the heart of Banff, and it’s the perfect place to curl up with a good book and a cup of joe. The coffee here is some of the best in town, and the pastries are delicious too!
Little Wild: Coffee By Wild Flour
The Daily Grind is another great option for coffee in Banff. This cafe is located just off Banff Avenue, and it’s known for its friendly service and a great selection of coffees and teas. If you’re looking for a quick caffeine fix, this is the place to go!
You will also find popular favorites like Goodearth Coffee House, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, and more!
Note: Keep in mind, Jasper National Park is located in the Canadian Rockies, but it is about a 3.50 to 4-hour drive away from Canmore. They have cute cafes too, but it is a long way to for a cuppa joe 🙂
