Is the Golden Skybridge open all year round
The Golden Skybridge is open seasonally in the summer months. Depending on the weather, the season typically runs from mid-May to early October.

1. Golden Suspension Bridge
Golden, BC offers a unique opportunity to walk on one of Canada’s highest suspension bridges, which is not an experience you can have every day.
At the Golden Skybridge, you will find the two highest suspension bridges in Canada, sitting at 130 and 80 meters high, showcasing 360 views of the Kootenay Rockies. You can experience an exhilarating adventure by crossing the bridges, situated 426 feet above a vast canyon.
There is the lower and the upper bridge from where you can enjoy stunning 360-degree views of British Columbia’s Kootenay Rockies that will leave you craving for more.
2. Hiking or walking trails
Prefer to just take it in and relax? You can explore three kilometers of walking trails, enjoy the lovely woods and soak in the atmosphere!
There are cute treetop areas for kids (play area) and unique structures where you can take photos or just have a moment of peace!
You will also find a cool photo spot – Touch the Sky – located by the lower or second suspension bridge.
3. Zipline!
Don’t miss the exhilarating 1,000-foot zipline ride that will take you across the canyon, if you’re looking for an adventure.

4. Treetop Village Play Park
The play area at Treetop Village is amazing for kids to relax and have fun. Kids can enjoy the slides, climbing, etc., and more in the mini adventure park.
5. Canyon Edge Challenge Course
The Canyon Edge Challenge Course has three different courses with varying levels of difficulty, including an option for children.
You’ll exercise your strength, stamina, balance, and agility while suspended up to 40 feet in the air.
6. Mountain Coaster | Ride the fastest and largest mountain coaster in Canada
At the Golden SkyBridge, you have to hop on the Railrider Mountain Coaster – a 3,375-foot mountain coaster to soak up unparalleled views of the Canadian Rockies.
You will get to ride along the canyon’s edge, and once you reach the top of the mountain, the excitement begins.
The coaster takes you through the forest and along the canyon edge, with curves and turns that lead to a 240-foot (73-meter) vertical drop at the bottom of the hill.
The total ride time is on average 5 minutes.
The Railrider Mountain Coaster is the first of its kind in Western Canada and will be the fastest and largest mountain coaster in Canada. It is also one of the few in the world with an equipped audio effect and the Railrider Mountain Coaster pays tribute to the legacy of railways and its giving community.
The ride was incredibly amazing (and safe for newbies). The Railrider Mountain Coaster allows its riders to choose their level of adventure with state-of-the-art technology providing safety features to suit their comfort level.
We absolutely loved the ride, and would love to go back and do it again!
7. Giant Canyon Swing
Conquer your fear and embark on an adrenaline-filled adventure with the Giant Canyon Swing at Golden Skybridge British Columbia. This heart-pumping ride involves free-falling over the canyon’s edge while being secured by a bungee cord.

8. Climbing Wall

The facility has a 28-foot rock climbing wall which was created by Eldorado Climbing Walls, a well-known builder. The wall is designed to imitate natural rock structures.

What should you wear at the Golden Skybridge to enjoy the attractions?
The Golden SkyBridge website suggests wearing closed-toe footwear to ensure your safety during your visit.
- Shoes: Closed-toe shoes with a supportive grip. Avoid sandals, crocs, and flats are not permitted.
- Clothes: Avoid wearing loose clothing. Wear comfortable clothes that allow for easy movement during activities. Plus pack a warm midlayer or a windbreaker for evenings.
Camera gear: When indulging in ziplining, or enjoying the mountain coaster ride, you cannot use your cellphone or camera for pictures and videos. Bring a GoPro or Insta360 (or any action camera) that can be attached to your body to capture your adventures!
Is the Golden Skybridge Safe?
The Golden SkyBridge is operated by Pursuit, the same company that organizes the Columbia Icefield Adventure. They keep the safety and well-being of guests and staff a priority.
They also maintain a Safety Promise by ensuring cleaning and anti-transmission practices are followed at all attractions.
At the Golden SkyBridge, the use of drones and other flying equipment is not permitted for safety reasons.
We enjoyed our rides at the Golden Skybridge attractions and followed all the safety instructions provided by the staff. As with most adventure activities, we had to sign a waiver form.
Are Pets Allowed on the Golden Skybridge?
At Golden Skybridge, pets aren’t permitted in the interest of everyone’s safety and well-being. However, there’s an off-leash area next to the parking lot where pets are welcome.
In all parts of Golden Skybridge, service animals are allowed as long as they are with their owners and have proper documentation/accreditation.
Is the Golden Skybridge Wheelchair Accessible?
The Golden Skybridge is partially wheelchair accessible. The Canyon Trail, Adventure Hub, Skybridge, and washrooms can be accessed by motorized wheelchairs, but the outdoor terrain and gravel trail may limit navigation.
Capilano Suspension Bridge or Golden Skybridge which is taller?
The Upper Suspension Bridge in Golden is 150 meters long and it is located 130 meters above the canyon. This makes the bridge twice as high as the Capilano Suspension Bridge and also slightly longer.

Because the Golden SkyBridge is easily accessible from Calgary and Banff Jasper Icefields Parkway area, here is a suggested 10-day Canadian Rockies itinerary
